The Best Study Abroad Programs for College Students

Study Abroad
December 16th, 2014

College is a great time to experience a lot of things, expand your knowledge and develop new skills. Studying in your city or state is good, interstate is even better. However, study abroad programs are on the rise that you would be a fool not to consider it.

These programs are for students who know what they want; to involve themselves in other cultures, learn a new language, appreciate different cultures, and gather knowledge along the way. Deciding which country to go to, however, is another matter.

Colleges that Offer the Best Study Abroad Programs

The list below is taken from the Top 45 Colleges To Study Abroad of US News and World Report. These are colleges that offer diverse study abroad programs while maintaining a good student involvement for better education.

Goucher College

Goucher College is ranked number one in the list and they deserve to be at that spot. The college’s goal is that all their students should have an international perspective and they have achieved that goal. 100% of their student graduates have studied abroad at least once.

They believe that they need to inspire their students to have a different way of thinking, communicating, learning, working, and living. They have more than 60 programs in 32 countries which will give the aspiring student diversity and choice as to the path they want to take.

Kalamazoo College

Kalamazoo College prides itself with its immersive occupational program. They say that 81% of their graduates have studied abroad. The US News and World Report have listed their recommended programs: college year in Athens, Budapest semester in Mathematics, and Semester at London School of Economics.

The College, however, does take into consideration that some of their students do not wish to partake in their study abroad program. So they offer a study abroad program at different times of the year to see what fits best. There are Short-Term, Long-Term, and Extended-Term arrangements to allow students to choose how long they wish to study abroad.

Queens University of Charlotte

Queens University of Charlotte gives their students the choice on how to learn through their study abroad programs. They offer Short-Term Faculty-Led programs, Language Immersion, Semester Abroad, and International Internships. All of which are available to each qualified student with a fund provided by the college to cover airfare and other related charges.

Queens pride itself of having 175 programs with 50 countries around the world. About 78% of their graduates are studying abroad. Their internship program is notably the best there is, since they send their students to Australia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, England, India, Italy, Mexico, and Spain.

If it is your dream to study abroad within the scope of the educational path you’re taking, these are some of the colleges that might offer you what you need. The best way to gain new knowledge is to experiment so why not try studying abroad?
